Fourth of July fun

We were away on vacation all last week (followed by a very busy weekend). Things are just  now starting to get back to normal around here. We had such a fun time away with family, and I will have a post up soon about that trip. In the meantime, I wanted to write about the fun day we had on the fourth of July.
If you have followed this blog for long, you know Logan is in love with any (and all) holidays. Just about any day that could possibly be celebrated, is a day that he anticipates with everything in him. He remembered last year's fourth of July, and requested that we bring sparklers and popcorn to the fireworks again this year.

We started the day at the town's parade. Logan loved watching all of the people march by. The old cars, firetrucks, and treats that people threw to him were also a big hit. After the parade, we headed home so that Eliott could get a little sleep before we continued with the rest of our busy day.

In the afternoon, we headed to a beach and picnic area just over the border in Maine. We brought a picnic lunch, and met my mom for some fun on the beach. We stayed until the sun was going down, and Eliott couldn't keep his eyes open, and then headed to another town to watch the fireworks.

This year I put a little "fireworks basket" of lollipops, glow necklaces/ flags, popcorn, and drinks together. It is quickly becoming a tradition for us. My brother brought giant sparklers to light after the fireworks show again.

  1. I love your "fireworks basket" idea! So fun! And I love that Logan remembered last year's 4th. What a fun thing to anticipate again! :)

    1. I really love that he looks forward to holidays so much. It was so fun to start a family tradition with the fireworks basket last year, and I think it will be fun for years to come. Hope you guys had an awesome fourth!:)
