The Perfect Sunday Afternoon

Sunday is when the whole week takes a quick break... a deep breath before a new week begins. Since Dan often finds himself working, writing estimates, or going out to meet with clients on Saturday, we really love to keep Sunday a church and family day. We don't usually make any big plans for the afternoon so that we can relax together and enjoy the day off. Sometimes that looks like a long hike in the woods, an afternoon nap, a movie night, or a family dinner.

This past weekend, we spent Sunday afternoon in a little town nearby walking along the shops and getting frozen yogurt instead of lunch. Dan and I would walk there when we were fifteen and sixteen, and were engaged there five years ago this month. It was so fun thinking about all that had changed in that time. After our walk we did a bunch of laundry to start the week off right. Then we headed to my moms for a quick little family dinner. God really knew what he was doing when he gave us Sundays to rest.
