Some Things About My Two Year Old..

  • He asks us to leave his bedroom door open every night.
  • He has finally warmed up to the idea of the church nursery. The sound of silence as we walk down the hall after dropping him off makes it so much easier to concentrate on the service.
  • He absolutely loves reading. He would pass up puzzles or block building any day for the chance to read book after book.
  • His favorite song is The wheels on the bus.
  • He would prefer to have socks on at all times... even at night.
  • He loves eggs and broccoli, but refuses to eat more than one bite of pizza (which happened to be his favorite food a year ago).
  • His favorite toys are probably his tools. He "fixes" anything and everything in sight.
  • He says that his favorite color is blue.
  • This past week we had a talk with him about his binkys. We explained that he would only have them at bed time and in the car from now on. We had noticed that even though he was talking plenty, he would carry on less of a conversation with them in. He picked his three favorites (one for bed & one for each of the cars) and the rest were stashed away. He had the type of sad look that might break your heart for about five minutes (while we talked about it) and then was totally content with it. He hasn't complained or cared at all. Honestly, I think it is harder for me admitting that my baby isn't as much of a baby anymore, than it has been for him.
  • When I ask him if he wants something to eat he will often use a phrase like, "No thanks, I'm Good". I would swear he is a teenager in a little tiny body sometimes.
  • He is very particular about some things. For example, he checks all of his clothes for tags before I even put them on him. He makes sure every tag is cut out of his outfits.
  • Ever since he got stung while apple picking last fall he has been scared about the bottom of the apple. He thinks that the bottom looks like a bug, and will have us cut it out of every apple that he eats.
  • I would be willing to bet that sometimes he mushes food all over himself just to be sure I will give him a bath after. He would be happy to take one or two long baths every day.
  • He gets to be more and more fun all of the time. We are so blessed to have a healthy little boy!
