Lately

I haven't posted the past few days because I haven't felt like there is all that much worth posting about. Then, after sitting with Logan and chuckling over videos from when he was a baby, I changed my mind about what was worth posting. The first video was of him as a newborn, snoring like an old man. Then came videos of him eating food for the first time, crawling, and walking with the most unsteady of steps... one foot at a time. After watching home videos with him I realized that the videos I appreciate most now are ones that I thought were not even worth posting at the time. It was just everyday life. Although there is still nothing thrilling in them, I love them so much simply because they are a glimpse into what our everyday normal was.

So here is a little of what we have been up to around here lately...

Friday night, Dan and I squeezed in our monthly date night. My goal for the year was to get one in every month. So being the procrastinators that we so often are, we made time for it on the 31st of the month. Thanks to my mother in law for watching Logan so we could sneak in some alone time!

Dan had a Saturday off for the first time in a long time. He was excited to spend some time with Logan. So the boys slept in, while I headed out for a morning with my friend, Kim. It was great to enjoy some girl talk as we browsed the clearance racks of Old Navy and Carters for baby clothes. We also spent some time in Barnes and Noble.
Saturday Afternoon was spent at my mom's house. We went for a nice long walk, cooked, and just spent time together. I love when Dan is around on Saturdays.

He was almost asleep in Uncle Chad's arms on our walk
and then he fell asleep on my mom's bed. :)

On Sunday afternoon we headed over to Jesse and Andrea's for a super bowl party. Andrea had made so many delicious foods for the game. We brought dessert. The kids watched a movie while we watched the super bowl. It was another fun family night!

Monday Morning my mom came by to visit for a while. After she left, Logan and I went out to do some grocery shopping. We stopped at Walmart to get a few things for the house. An older lady stopped to talk to us for a good five minutes and Logan didn't stop talking about her the rest of the day. He loved that someone took the time to pay attention to him in the store.

Logan slept for three hours Monday night...total. I was exhausted by the time I gave in and brought him downstairs. It was still dark outside and I decided that all plans for Tuesday would have to wait. The day would involve entirely too much tv and coffee. Once I decided that, my attitude changed and we had a good day cuddling. I ended up getting a few things done during his nap but other than that we just hung around the house.

Tuesday afternoon while Logan slept I caught up on some emails, worked on some tax season stuff for the business, made some cards that I have been meaning to get done for a few weeks, and did some valentines decorating. I was so ready for sleep last night. I typed half a blog post out after Logan fell asleep. Eventually, I decided to just give it up and go to bed because all of the words were starting to blur. I don't know that anyone would have been able to understand them anyway.

Stanley loves all of the attention he gets while Logan naps.

This morning we woke up to a snowstorm. Dan had stayed home and we all slept in. When Logan woke up he was so excited that daddy was home.  We had another snow day full of books, a big breakfast, a movie, a bath in the sink (for Logan in case you weren't sure), homemade chicken noodle soup, and lots of fun together. I am so ready to be done with the snow this season though. Spring can not come fast enough.

He loves the little mustache tattoo Dan gave him.
