Park and Picnic

Monday was Dan's first day off since his birthday in April! He has been so tired but has made a lot of progress with the business. I will post more about that later this week. Anyway, he decided to take two days off in between his last job and the one that he started today. We decided Monday would be a good family day. We just ignored most everything that had to be done and had some fun with Logan. Yesterday was more of a down to business kind of day although we still enjoyed a fun family walk in Concord.

Monday morning Dan made us all chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. This is one of Logan's favorite treats, and for some reason I don't make them very well. So it is one of those treats that we get when we have a morning that Dan is around and feels like making breakfast. After breakfast I packed a picnic lunch and we headed for the playground. He played for a little while but we started to lose energy because it was so warm out. We found a nice little shady spot under a tree to lay out our blanket. Dan and I talked about life and goals for a while, and Logan found some sticks and rocks to play with. We had a lovely little lunch.

After lunch Logan was exhausted and fell asleep in the car. We took that as an invitation to drive back roads and dream about houses we will probably never own. It was a good reconnect time for Dan and I, because it is important to remember to keep learning about each other even when life gets busy. After we drove around most of the towns that we dream of one day living in Logan woke up and we headed for my grandparent's farm. Logan loved visiting the animals and after sleeping in a car seat it was good for him to get out and run for a while. Later on, we headed to Jesse and Andrea's house where we had our regular family dinner night + Andrea's parents who were visiting from Pennsylvania. It was a full house and we had a wonderful night!
