When I was pregnant with Logan I looked for a baby book that I would love. I kept my eyes open, but never found one that I felt the urge to buy and use for him. Over time, I wrote so often about him on the blog (and recorded other milestones on a calendar for him), that I sort of gave up on the idea of a baby book.
In the months after having Eliott, I really wanted to get a baby book for him, and felt bad that I hadn't done one for Logan too. So I decided I would just make my own. That way I could add as many pages as I want to over the years. I can also go back and fill Logan's book in. (Better late than never right?) I can pull ideas that I love from other baby books, and leave the pages that I didn't care for out of this one.
So I have a few questions for anyone that reads this. Do you have a baby book from your childhood? What are your favorite parts of it? Did your mom include hand written letters? Do you just love seeing old pictures, or reading about your milestones? I want to make sure to include the important stuff.
I love this!! So sweet you are making these. :)
ReplyDeleteI do have a baby book that my mom put together. Some of my favorite parts were seeing the records of each "first" I had. I also have Christopher's baby book and his mom recorded that stuff too so it was neat to compare when we each started walking and talking, etc. :) I know that I plan to write letters to our future children (honestly, I've already started those) just to let them know that they are prayed for and loved so much. I want them to have a whole book of letters brimming with love from their parents by the time they move out for college. :)
That is so sweet that you each have one and can compare! I love that you are already writing letters to your children. They are going to feel so loved, and be so happy to have those letters to read someday. Thanks for the input!
