Lately

Eliott has started eating some baby food. I wasn't sure I would love making it as much as I did with Logan because of how busy I am now. I really love it though! It is interesting to see which things you find really fun as a parent. I love making big batches of food and freezing them. And he is loving eating real food!

His little grins kill me. He watches everything Logan does with the biggest smile on. Logan was dancing around to get smiles out of him in this shot. I love that they will grow up having each other.

I have been saying I would do it for about two years now, but I have finally started actually having pictures printed. Logan loves taking out this box and looking through all of the prints. I am going to keep working my way backwards until I have our engagement pictures printed. (6+ years worth of prints!)

I have really wanted to get back into working out since Eliott was born. I did some 5ks and a half marathon in highschool/ before kids, but never got back into running after having Logan. Spring is a pretty busy season at work for Dan, which means figuring out how to fit workouts in with the kids. Logan doesn't nap anymore, so I have been doing trampoline workouts on the back deck (or in the livingroom on bad weather days). Logan will do push ups and stretches, and then play in the back yard while I workout. Anyone Have any helpful hints for getting good home workouts in with kids? We have an elliptical in our basement, but running down there is no fun!

I have started chipping away at spring cleaning. I've written out a cleaning schedule that I am hoping I can make work by breaking it down with daily, weekly, monthly, and bi-annual chores. Logan has actually been  helping out a lot with cleaning during Eliott's afternoon naps.

Do you have a cleaning schedule that works well for you?
Do you get your digital photos printed out? Do you have a method that works well to remind yourself to send them out periodically?

  1. We keep the house tidy in general (so beds made every day, dishes done daily, and random stuff put away), but I actually clean once a week which includes bathrooms, floors, and kitchen. But then of course I'm not keeping up with two kiddos while doing all of that haha!

Also I love that E is in the stage of trying foods. It's always so fun to see what babies like!

    1. Yes he loves his food! That is great that you can stay on top of the housework that way. I have always tried to do cleaning weekly, (on Mondays usually) but it just isn't working out with both kids now. So I have set a schedule of one or two rooms a day, and that seems to be working out better. It leaves Friday and Saturday to catch up on things if we were extra busy during the week too. I guess it is all about adjusting to whatever works best at each stage in life.

  2. I skipped making food with my second one.. firstly yes too busy but secondly and more importantly he was not into it.. he was so much more interested in what was on our plate.

I used to print out pictures.. make albums.. but now they sit up on the highest shelf gathering dust.. and we usually end up going onto the computer to look at older photo's when in the mood. So i stopped printing.. though the idea of photo books has crossed my mind. One concise summary of our year perhaps. The greatest hits.

    1. Yes, I am definitely already noticing that he wants what we are eating, so we will see how long the baby food actually lasts I guess. :) That is true that everything is so digital now, that it is easier to just pull up old pictures on the computer. I am such a photo person that I love having them both ways. Doing an end of the year round up is a great idea though!
