Easter Weekend Surprise!

As you could probably tell, I haven't blogged much lately. I have had a million things that I have wanted to sit down and write but life has gotten busy which made me choose my priorities for a while. I did want to share a little bit about that now, though. And hopefully I can get myself caught up on here over the next few weeks.

Last week was a long week of not feeling well. Friday, Logan and I woke up feeling better. I decided that I was going to make it a mommy son date day and get out of the house with him for a while. We decided to go see his first movie at a theater ever. The theater had just been renovated and they had put brand new leather recliners in, in place of the regular seats. Logan was over the moon excited. We got free popcorn and a drink since it was a grand (re)opening. After about 10 minutes in his own recliner he climbed over into mine and cuddled with me for the whole movie. I soaked up every single second of it and let him eat way too much popcorn. I think it is safe to say we both had the best time. We followed up the movie with a picnic at the playground where he ran free and crazy. Dan grilled our dinner for the first time this season which topped off the perfect family day.

Saturday morning I got a phone call shortly after I woke up from my sister... you know the one I mentioned that lives in California? She decided to make another surprise visit. (The last one was in April of 2013.) I hurried over to my mom's house to see her and her sweet kiddos. We ended up going to the playground and then they came back to our house to play for a while.

We have spent most of the weekend going back and forth between houses spending time with them. Tonight, we had a family dinner so that all of the kids could play together. There aren't any words to tell just how much I love each of my nieces and my nephew. I had never even met my littlest niece before Saturday (just talked to her on the phone and listened to her babble back), but the love is so instant and so strong that I have found myself in tears a ridiculous amount of times the past few days. Having a close family is a bond that means so much to us, and will mean so much to them as they get older too.

We did a re-make of the photo that we took on their visit in 2013.
I love seeing the comparison and all that has changed in those two years.
