During A Blizzard

This past week has been good for us. Remember when I said we were going to be hit with a big snow storm the beginning of last week? Well, it came and it was big for sure. We have had a couple more snow storms since then. (Having another today actually.) You can barely see our deck as it is covered in a good few feet of snow. Since it is light and fluffy enough that the power has stayed on, we have been enjoying our family time in. It let up for just long enough to have a busy weekend, which was perfect after being in the house most of the week.

Dan was able to fit a couple good work days in last week on the less snowy days, but he was home with us for a few days too. He has been working on repainting our living room, and I love the new color/ finish. The down time has been good for us. We have had Logan's nap time to talk by ourselves, bake cookies together, and cuddle on the couch. He has made us breakfasts of eggs, bacon, and waffles. While we can completely appreciate when he has a full schedule with plenty of work, I think we both love that the weather has forced him to take a little break too.

Logan has been out playing in the snow. Even when I can tell his little body is tired and cold, he wants to climb the hill and sled down again. He barely reaches the bottom of the hill before he shouts "AGAIN!". We have built blanket forts and read the same book a good fifteen times on any given day.

And since all of this winter seems to constantly remind us that the warm sunny beach is only twenty minutes (+ a few months) away, I decided to do some online shopping for Logan's summer clothes. Grammy and Grumps got him a carters gift card for his birthday. So when I got an email that everything was an additional 20% off with free shipping on blizzard day, I took my opportunity. The only thing better than going out shopping is doing it from my couch, with coffee and a cozy blanket, and not having to actually spend my own money.

We had a little superbowl party at my brother's house last night. Complete with delicious food made by my sister in law, cousins up late playing, and a patriots win, it was a pretty great night! I can't say that I am as into football as Dan is, but it was such a close game, that ended well.

Pretty great snow-covered week? definitely.

  1. You have such a sweet family! I'm a bit jealous of your snow though- our winter could hardly be considered a winter, so I'm ready for spring:) have fun playing and relaxing in your snow days!

  2. Thanks! I would gladly send a little your way. I am ready for spring too, unfortunately I think I have a couple months of waiting to do. There is something cozy about all of this snow though. :)

    1. Yes, especially the little one. :) I would be okay with this being it for the year, although I have a feeling that there will be more.
