Countdown To Christmas: Week Two

Sunday:
Keeping it simple to start the week off, I had Logan put up some Christmas decorations. It was mostly decorations that he could play with or ones with only a few pieces. We strategically placed some of our favorite snowmen and angels throughout the house, as well as a few other decorations. He loved these snowmen decals that we have hanging on the fridge for anytime play.

Monday:
We had a family dinner night at our house, so Eliza and Paige got in on the Christmas fun too! They made candy cane ornaments. Each ornament was cute in it's own way. Eliza's was done perfectly in an every other color pattern, and the younger two just had fun stringing them on in whatever order they wanted.

Tuesday:
We worked on an adorable little nativity scene. Logan has had a blast playing with the characters ever since. He carries the little baby Jesus around the house talking to him. I wasn't sure if he would be gentle enough with it but he is doing well so far!

Wednesday:
My mom sent a link for a cute Christmas Tree shirt DIY that I wanted to try with Logan. It was an easy little craft that he can wear anytime throughout the season. He was so happy that he had "made" his own shirt.

Thursday:
Thursday was a busy day so we opted for a quiet movie night. We watched the Charlie Brown Christmas special. Logan has been quoting it and singing the songs ever since. We also started stringing cranberries because we knew we would be decorating our Christmas tree this weekend.

Friday:
In an effort to teach Logan the importance of giving, we had talked about donating a toy this week. We talked about how some little boys and girls don't have any presents to open on Christmas, and how it is important for them to feel loved. On the way to the store I was a little worried about if he was old enough to really understand it or not. We decided it would be best to look for a toy for a little girl around his age so that there would be no forgetting that we weren't there to buy a toy for him. ;) After carefully perusing the toy aisles for quite some time, he picked a pink and purple cash register. He did a great job and we had so much fun with it that we might just have to make this an annual tradition.

Saturday:
I am guessing that by Saturday, his two week nap protest had caught up to him. I planned to do this fingerprint canvas with him after dinner. He ended up falling asleep late afternoon and slept straight through until six this morning. So we actually ended up working on this today after setting up our Christmas tree. It is another pinterest idea that I decided to make into a wall hanging rather than just doing it on a piece of paper.

Thanks for following our Christmas countdown. It has been so good for us to set aside some time each day for a fun activity. We have had a busy couple of weeks, but I am hoping to get a few posts up this week in order to get caught up with the blog. Anyone else feel like the to-do list is never ending this time of year?
