Spontaneous Days Are The Best Days.

We woke up late today and were slow moving. Dan had the day off to spend with us. After breakfast, we had one of those conversations: "What do you want to do today?" "I don't know. What do you want to do?"  It ended with the decision that we should do something outside, and that Logan would have fun with fishing.

I thought a trip to the pond would be the perfect chance to have fun with a new hobby that I've developed over the past few weeks. I have been painting while Logan naps or after he is in bed at night. I gathered up my paint and brushes. The guys grabbed the fishing pole and tackle box and we headed out.

It was breezy and cool enough in the shade to be comfortable in a sweater, but warm enough in the sun for one crazy kid to go swimming. He stripped down to his underwear and headed straight for the water. He played with pirate swords (big sticks), and talked to himself (or to his imaginary friends, bug and bird... I am never sure if they are tagging along or not). It is so much fun to listen to all of the places that his imagination takes him.

These are the days that I don't want to end. The ones where I am just as sad as he is when it is time to go home. And his face every single time he caught one of those fish, is a memory I hope to hold onto forever.
