Sunday:
We left bright and early as planned. Okay, so it was early afternoon when we finally hit the road. We were headed out on a four hour trip to Maine with the Parrott side of the family. I packed a car activity bag that kept Logan happy (more on that later this week). We stopped half way in Freeport to grab lunch and let Logan run for a while. We went into a few of the outlet stores and picnicked outside for lunch. When Logan was exhausted, we got back into the car for the rest of the trip. He ended up sleeping almost two hours and was so good in the car.
Monday:
We hung around the camp and got settled in.
Tuesday:
We took a trip into Acadia National Park. At night, Logan did a little fishing and we celebrated David's birthday.
Wednesday:
Was an overcast day and even sprinkled a little every once in a while, but we headed to bar harbor and did a little walking by the ocean.
Thursday:
Was the only real rainy day during the week. Grammy and Auntie took Logan to the children's museum in Bangor so that Dan and I could have a date day. We went to five guys for lunch. A lot of people seem to love it and we had never tried it so we decided to go for something new. After lunch, we found a mini golf place and did a little shopping.
Friday:
We headed to the beach for the day and had a picnic lunch in Acadia. After that, we did mini golfing with the family and Logan tried go carts for the first time.
Saturday:
We spent the day hanging around the lake again. We also did some packing so that we could head home Sunday morning.
***A few things that aren't pictured above:
◆ Lots of toddler bumps, bruises, and scraped up knees.
◆ A dishwasher that bubbled out onto the kitchen floor... just like in the movies.
◆ A key hunt that seemed to last forever. (Is it really a vacation without at least one set of keys getting lost?)
◆ Hours and hours of card games.
◆ A call from my sister in California because I have a brand new beautiful baby niece.
As much as I wish it had lasted longer, I am happy to be home too. It seems like with all of the rushing around that happens before vacation, things haven't been "normal" around here in a while. We slept in a little this morning. I am sure it will take Logan about a week to catch up on sleep. We went grocery shopping, and played with toys in the living room, and did normal everyday stuff, and it felt great! I am hoping to get around to unpacking the rest of the way tomorrow. How long is it acceptable to keep living out of a suit case?
If you are still reading, you have officially made it to the end of this very long post.
Hope you enjoyed the look into our week.
