What Christmas Looked Like For Us

Though the weeks leading up to Christmas were busy this year, Christmas itself was actually very laid back. It was a welcomed change of pace, and we had a blast together. We kept things really small as far as presents go at our house this year. Our families spoiled Logan though, and we got him a few things we thought he would really like.

On Monday night we did our usual family dinner with Jesse's family. My mom and Chad were able to make it too. We did presents for the kids after dinner and they had fun playing together.

In the afternoon, on Christmas Eve we went over to Grammy and Grumps' house. We had an amazing dinner and a birthday cake for Jesus. We opened so many beautiful homemade gifts. It was so special to see what each person spent their time making. We loved every single gift and the time that we had to spend with the Parrott side of the family. This was also the day that Logan didn't nap at all, which was a first for him. He crashed when we left their house at around 10:00.

We slept in on Christmas morning! We know it may be our last year with the privilege of sleeping in for many years. When we woke up, we let Logan open his stocking. Then he opened a book all about the birth of Jesus. It was a good way to do the Bible story because it was fun for him and something that he could easily follow. We had some more gifts for him to open, and then we did a big breakfast together.

**This is where I was kicking myself for not checking my camera battery before I went to bed on Christmas Eve. My cell phone did alright filling in though.

After a relaxing morning, that turned into a relaxing afternoon, we headed over to my mom's house for a Christmas dinner. She made a big ham dinner, with more dessert than the family could eat. The kids opened presents and played together. Later at night we drove around and looked at Christmas lights. Logan loved that part of the day and kept asking to see more lights.
