I think the cold weather and holiday season coming up are starting to get to me. I am more excited this year than I have been for the past few years. I think that the excitement comes in part, from Logan's age this year. He isn't really old enough to understand the whole meaning behind Thanksgiving or Christmas yet, but he can communicate and do a lot more than he could last year. He can really be a part of the family traditions this year. We can start to teach him why we celebrate both of these holidays. We are so blessed with the family that we are surrounded with, and I can't wait to watch all of the fun through his eyes.
This week consisted of:
- hearing from my sister (who lives in California). I hadn't talked to her in months and was missing her like you wouldn't believe. My nephew turned a year old last weekend so she called, and we chatted for a while. I am so glad I got to talk to her and hear him playing in the background.
-I started some Christmas shopping. I got a few little things for Logan, and then some things to make homemade gifts too. This also involved a lunch date at Panera with my mom. I love those special times with her.
-my first time out deer hunting with my big brother. It is something that I have wanted to do since I was in high school, and finally went to get my license this year. There is something about sitting in a tree stand looking at the beautiful fall colors and soaking up the noises of the world God has made for us to enjoy. Of course, there is always the fact that it was pretty chilly and that we didn't see any deer as the downside, but overall... so much fun!
-many crock pot meals. It's a time saver, and there is nothing like a warm meal at the end of a cold day.
-some baking for a bake sale that my friend was doing at UNH. We always have fun baking new things together, and it made just the amount of money she was hoping to raise.
-I made a simple banner to use in our family Christmas pictures. It was cheap and really easy to make. I will post some of the pictures after we take them.
-and of course... plenty of goofing around with this guy.
I hope you all had an awesome week too!
