My Afternoon

I think Logan may have hit that protest every nap age. I am hoping it is just a random thing, but it sure seems like the stage that I hear happens between 1.5 and 2.5 years old. I have noticed it happening more lately. I know he still needs the naps because I can tell he is exhausted when he doesn't get one.

My afternoon went like this:

1:30- Bring Logan up to bed, tuck him in, and leave. I decided to put him down in our room today because I had a project that I wanted to do in his room.

1:31-Stops crying. Awesome. I bet he will go right to sleep. (He was exhausted, after all.)

1:45- Still talking to himself. I can hear him jumping around but I had forgotten to turn the monitor toward the pack n' play so I could not see him.

2:00- He is still jumping around and talking to himself.
I head up to do the quick project that I wanted to get done. Since it is not normal for him to be this active 30 minutes into a nap, I decided to make sure that he didn't have a messy diaper that was keeping him from settling down. It wasn't messy but he had ripped it off, which has potential to be very bad. I replaced his diaper and moved him to his crib because it was darker in his room, and I was done in there.

2:30- He is still awake and talking. Calling for grammy, auntie, daddy, and anyone else he thinks might save him. He still wasn't screaming so I decided to give him 30 more minutes.

3:00- He is still talking to himself and kicking the wall. I head upstairs to get him, when... silence. I figured it was probably just a break before he picked up his conversation again but decided to clean our room for five minutes while listening for any noise from his room.

3:05- Still no noise. Could I have won this battle?? I better wait a few more minutes before checking on him in case he was still on the edge of sleep.

3:20- Still nothing. My room was looking a little better. I decided it was time. I quietly crack the door open and...1.5 hours later...

Success!

I am pretty sure this is what winning the lottery must feel like.
