Exciting News!

We have some exciting news! I should probably start right off with a disclaimer... I am not pregnant again. Now that that is out of the way we will get to the exciting news. :) Dan's business is officially a registered NH small business! He has also given his notice at his second job and has jumped into the world of self employment. This is probably bigger news for us than it may seem to most of you, because I know how hard he has worked to get the business up and running. He has been working 60+ hour weeks for a while now. We have been praying and planning for the big "step" into self employment. Being a one income household made that step all the more intimidating but we finally decided it was time.

Here is a little of what we have been up to as far as Parrott Painting goes:

  • We spent a day in Concord to get everything registered with the state.
  • We have been getting quotes on business insurance and will be setting that up soon.
  • We have been looking at trucks to buy for a company vehicle. We may not end up buying for a little while still but we are scouting for deals and looking into the stats on different trucks.
  • Our first set of business cards are on their way.
  • Like I said above, he has given his notice at his second job and will be working only one job as of next week.
  • We have filled out the paperwork to get our new health insurance.
  • We now have a logo thanks to my amazing aunt. She is a very talented local artist. You can find her artwork here. She whipped this up for us...

We are both so excited for Dan to be able to do what he really loves doing. It will also mean more free family time on the weekends, more schedule flexibility, more time to work on our own house, no more sixty or seventy hour weeks, and the thing we are looking forward to most... going to church all together as a family again (Dan has to work most Sundays with the current job). God has blessed us in ways I never would have imagined possible. I am so thankful for a hardworking husband and a God that cares about our every desire and need.
