I am so far behind on all of the posts I have wanted to do. I feel as if the only way I will ever really catch up/ get on a more normal posting schedule is to do a "life update" post of sorts. I can't possibly squish all that I have to say into this post, but I will try to hit on the highlights of what has been going on around here recently.
///// One of the biggest changes around here is that we have been babysitting my sister's kiddos while she works some weekends. It gets crazy trying to get all four of them to sleep as much as they need to in our two bedroom townhouse, but we are making it work, and the kids have a blast together! Eliott has plenty of helpers to push his little car around. :)
///// A few weeks ago we took all four of the kids to the zoo. They were so well behaved, and had the best time together. They loved being able to feed the deer, and hear the lion "ROAR" throughout the zoo.
/////We have been trying to fit in fun family adventures whenever Dan gets a random day off. His days off are few and far between during this busy season, but we have been making the most of them. We usually head up north and explore parts of our state that we haven't seen much of. It has been so good for all of us to get out of the house and have fun together through all of the busy-ness.
///// We will be starting school up again next week. Logan is excited to homeschool again this year, and I am still in disbelief that it is already September again! I am working on getting all of my last minute stuff together this week, as well as working on how we are going to fit everything into our days/ weeks. I will update more on this after our first day! In the meantime, we are filling our days with end of the summer beach and playground trips.
///// Like I said, Dan has been very busy with work. He has constant quotes, paperwork, emails, and phone calls to make on top of his regular work. Since starting the painting business four years ago, he has had really busy seasons and slow seasons too. We will never forget the stress of the slow seasons, and are so thankful that he can be so busy. I am also thankful that he knows how important it is to still fit in family time. Even taking a few minutes a day to read, catch frogs, and feed the ducks with the boys, mean the world to the kids. He is so purposeful about getting that quality time with us.
Such a good summer! So glad to hear that the painting business is going so well! And good for you guys for taking care of four kiddos so much this summer! That's impressive!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, this summer was great! It just flew by a little faster than I would have liked. ;)
