The Best Way To Spend Saturday

Dan had a painting quote to do in the northern part of the state a couple Saturdays ago. It was about 1- 1.5 hours from the house, and we decided to pack the boys up and tag along since we didn't want to spend most of Saturday apart if we could be together. I am so glad that we decided to go along because we had the best family day. We had more fun all together than we have had in a long time, and I can't wait for more day trips this spring/ summer.

 First we grabbed breakfast and took some pretty back roads up to the town that Dan was doing the quote in. There was a cute little beach area in that same town. The boys and I played at the beach while Dan was working. It was warm and sunny, and made for the perfect spring morning. Eliott loved feeling the sand between his fingers and toes.

After leaving the beach, we decided to drive around and get lost for a while so that Eliott could get a good nap in. We drove through a bunch of towns that we didn't know well at all, and ended up on some mountain roads surrounding a beautiful lake. This picture was a pretty little pond that we came across while driving around.

We happened to come across the NH fish and game fish hatchery, which I hadn't been to since I was much younger. We knew Logan would love it, so we stopped in to explore for a while. He was so excited that he got to feed the fish.

After the fish hatchery closed we headed toward home. We took our time exploring more of the state. Eventually, we came across a Friendly's and decided to stop for dinner. Neither Dan or I had been to one in years and we thought it would be a nice easy place to bring the kids.

These fun family days when Dan has time off to be with us are my favorite.
