I plan to only do about three days of school in the mornings with him each week. I don't know if having the baby in November will change the plan, but I am going to stay very flexible with it all this year. My goal is to keep everything fun, because I think that is how most kids at this age learn best.
Our first day went so well that when he woke up Tuesday, and found out that it wasn't a school day he started crying. He loves doing worksheets, singing songs, and doing crafts. I can tell he feels so grown up and loves having a schedule ready for him a few times a week. So far we are both really liking it, and I am excited about all of the new things he will learn this year.
We repainted the dining room and got it all set up in hopes of making it even more multi-functional than it already was. It is where I do any blogging, where we do all of the business paperwork for the painting company, where I our household bills, where we craft, and now a school room, all on top of being a dining room for meals. I wanted to be very intentional about how it was set up and organized so that it could easily transition between all of those things. I believe the last time I did an update on the dining room was about two years ago when we painted it a dark red. We left the kitchen dark red for now, and just lightened the dining room back up again.
Yay! So good that he loves it! :)
