Surprise It's A...!!!

We were so excited to find out that we will be adding another boy to the family this fall! A couple weeks ago I told Dan "I really feel like this one is a boy." Up until then, I had no guesses at all. So we went into our appointment yesterday with two votes that it was a boy (Logan + I) and Dan thought it would be a girl.

Dan and I were unsure if we should bring Logan to the appointment. We didn't know if he would get bored and make it hard for us to really focus. I am so glad we decided to bring him along! He was so interested in everything she was showing us on the screen. Dan and I both wished that we had thought to record his reaction to the news. When the ultrasound tech told us it was a boy, his face lit up like I have rarely seen before. He turned to Dan in pure excitement and repeated "IT'S A BOY!" with the biggest grin. Of course, once he realized that the technician was watching his reaction he got all shy and tucked himself beside me.

Those few seconds of unfiltered excitement quickly became one of my favorite life moments so far.

After the appointment, we headed to the beach to let Logan play and take a few pictures with a blue balloon. The one with both Dan and I came out a little blurry because we were trying to use the tripod with a self timer (and later realized that the camera had been on the wrong setting). Dan had taken the day off so we spent so we spent the rest of the day having fun together, and picked up a new "little brother" outfit for the baby.
^^She couldn't get a great profile shot but here is our new little guy!^^
I am ecstatic about this little boy being added to our family. I am so excited to see the similarities he and Logan share, and also all of the ways they are different. I feel so blessed to be growing our second baby boy, and thank God that he looks very healthy! Now, I am headed to sort through baby clothes and plan their room re-do. Thanks for reading along, for all of your sweet comments, and for getting excited with us.

P.S. Here is a quick blooper photo. It was just too funny not to share. It was windy, so I ended up with a balloon head. Logan decided to join our picture with some giant rocks that could have broken a toe or two (holding them with just one hand of course). Luckily we all made it out with no injuries. ;)

    1. Thank you for the sweet comment :) I am sure between all four of their children a little girl will come along eventually. You are right about time flying. I love recording it here because I know it goes by way too fast.
