Sunday:
Sunday was Dan's first day off this month that we were able to go pick out a tree. Better late than never... right? It looks so pretty and really brought the feel (and smell) of Christmas into the house. We got out our lights, a few ornaments, and our strings of popcorn and cranberries, and loaded it all onto the tree. Logan could hardly wait to add the star to the top.
Monday:
We had taken a couple family pictures for our Christmas card on Sunday, so on Monday I wanted to get some of just Logan. He was pretty tired (still having a difficult sleep stage with him) but he was good about letting me take a few to remember this sweet stage of his life.
Tuesday:
We made white chocolate Christmas tree pretzel pops. After the pops, we started to dip more foods into the white chocolate and cover them in sprinkles. It was a yummy (and simple) dessert for after dinner!
Wednesday:
Dan brought home a gingerbread house after work. Logan loved building the house and then decorating. After we put the roof on he was very concerned about how the gingerbread man would get out of his house if he needed to go see the doctor.
Thursday:
We had a busy day of Christmas shopping on Thursday. Dan did half a day of work, and joined us when he finished up there. We had a family dinner at night, so I brought a simple little snowman mask that he colored with Grammy Parrott for a mess free project.
Friday:
I love looking through old crafts that I made as a little girl, so I think it is so special that Logan will have the ones we have made this month to pull out when he is older too. With each new handmade ornament Logan puts on the tree this year, I am reminded of how blessed I am to have this time with him. I love watching him work on these perfectly imperfect little projects. We made a simple clay plate that he added snowflakes and jewels to. It is too big to use as an ornament, but I thought it would be cute to place with some of his other crafts when we decorate for Christmas each year.
Saturday:
Saturday night was our annual family Christmas party and yankee swap. It is one of the things about the season that I anticipate most every year. The kids all had a blast playing together. Between the food, and the family, and the swap, it just doesn't get any better.
I can't believe that we only have a few more days until Christmas! This month seems to be flying by and has been so busy. We are still having a great time with our advent of activities (even if a few of them are remembered through fuzzy cell phone pictures). Wishing you all a relaxing few days leading up to Christmas day!
It sounds like yall have had such a great time celebrating the festivities. You've done such an amazing job of making it special for Logan, and although he may not remember details, I know he will remember the atmosphere you and your husband created for him! I hope the rest of the week is perfectly dreamy- and have a merry Christmas!!
