We have slowly been working on the house. The upstairs hasn't even been touched with a new coat of paint since we moved in but we will get to that eventually. :) However, in the past week or so we did get a few things done downstairs so I thought I would post some pictures on here of the progress.
I made the pillows on the couch and chair shown below this past week. Dan has always hated the little throw pillows because he thinks they are pointless. We hadn't spent the money on the small ones before because even though they are pretty, I understood how he felt that they were pointless. So instead of buying small ones I went to the store for fabric that matched the color scheme of the room. I decided to make some large ones that would still work well on the couch and then two of the floral patterned ones that people could use on the floor/ against the wall or wherever else in the room. The best part about this project was how cheap it was. I found the fabric for a great price and instead of buying pillow stuffing from a craft store I bought the cheap regular sized pillows from walmart for $2.25! I cut them open and stuffed my own pillows. We also got lighter curtains because brown curtains were way too dark for the room.
This is the toy box that we decided on for Logan. We painted it white to match the bookshelves and it has worked out well!
My friend made us this framed "P" for Christmas. It works great by the front door. We found the key at hobby lobby and have been looking for something to put our keys on for a while. We end up switching cars back and forth pretty often because of Dan's painting work and would find ourselves searching through the house last minute for the keys. This has been so nice to have and we have been doing
pretty well with putting the keys on it right when we come through the door.
This is the color that we decided on for the dining room and kitchen.
I am planning to eventually print my blog out into books done by year. It will be fun to watch the progress with the house. It will also be great to have them printed out for reminders of when Logan did different things.
