So picture this...
It's 5:30 or 6:00pm and...
You have a hungry husband that just walked through the door after a long day at work.
You are still in your pajamas because it was well... just one of those days.
The dog is whining to go out.
The kid(s) are hanging all over you because they are hungry.
There is still a sink load of dishes because you just didn't get to it during nap time.
You are pulling one of these...
Most of you have probably either been there or will be at some point in life. I am not really there yet but some nights dinner time can be very stressful. I have *re*discovered a very helpful tool.
I had forgotten how much I loved my crock-pot because it has been packed away for about a year. I have used it almost every night since it has been back out. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can only make a few things in it. You can even make some delicious desserts. It is so easy to stick some ingredients in either during a nap time or whenever you have a free minute during the day. I usually stick Logan in his chair with some puffs and about ten minutes later dinner is cooking. I don't even have to think about it again until we are ready to sit down and eat. It is also great if you are working during the day or have to be out until dinner time.
Another awesome thing about it is you only have one pot to clean out. They even make these handy bags to go right inside them so all you have to do is throw the bag away.
I have mentioned that we were working on getting Logan into a better night time routine and this has been a huge help. Dinner time is such a great family time and whatever I can do to make it relaxing I will try. We have had the best family time at night lately because we have time to relax, sit down together at the table, and enjoy dinner. I have some recipes that I love so if anyone has a crock-pot and isn't sure what to try I would be happy to send you some of our favorites!
