Making Christmas Memories
This time of year is so busy, but in the best kind of way. Finding balance is something that I am always working at. I have learned that prioritizing one thing, means giving a little in another area. I am a stay at home mom, but find that I don't have many full days at home unless I am also watching someone else's kiddos here. Tuesday was my first day in a long time that I was just home relaxing with my boys.
I mentioned to Dan Tuesday night that I really loved just having the day to play with them, and to clean and organize. I worked in the basement and hall closet. Those are the two areas that tend to get the most cluttered when life gets busy. I told him how I had been feeling guilty that I stay home, and can't manage to keep our house more organized. He reminded me that those things aren't the most important things in this season of life. He reminded me that feeding, teaching, and keeping little ones safe is enough right now. I am so blessed to have a husband that loves his family enough to keep the most important things a top priority.
I am extra thankful for the Christmas Season this year. It gets very busy, but it is always an amazing reminder of what is really most important. I want my boys to remember listening to Christmas Songs while they play, learning about the gift of baby Jesus, and about how important giving is. We have been making so many Christmas memories, and I know I will hold on to these memories forever. Do you do any special traditions as a family around Christmas time? Some of my favorites are decorating the tree, driving around to look at lights, and going to the Christmas Eve service at church.
